Reuniting Lost Dogs: Search and Location Services
Lighting the Way Home with Aerial and Underwater Drones

Eye in the Sky provides specialist lost dog search support focused on high-risk and risk-to-life incidents, using advanced aerial and underwater drone technology, thermal imaging systems, and handheld multi-spectral devices to assist in urgent situations.
Our work is focused on supporting incidents involving hazardous environments including railways, cliffs, water, dense terrain, and other locations where rapid and coordinated action may be critical.
Alongside operational deployments, we also provide nationwide remote guidance, search planning advice, and structured support to help owners take calm, effective action during the early stages of a missing dog incident.
Eye in the Sky operates primarily as a volunteer-led service. This means physical deployments and ground attendance are carried out around existing work, family, and operational commitments.
While we always aim to assist where possible, immediate attendance cannot always be guaranteed under the volunteer support model.
Volunteer drone and ground support is primarily focused within Dorset area, subject to:
-
team availability
-
travel distance
-
weather conditions
-
operational assessment
-
safety considerations
Even where physical attendance is not possible, we continue to provide nationwide remote support, guidance, search planning assistance, and incident management advice to help owners make informed decisions during active incidents.

Our aerial drones and handheld multi-spectral thermal equipment allow us to scan large, inaccessible, or difficult areas efficiently, including in poor visibility and challenging terrain.
This technology can assist in identifying heat signatures and locating dogs that may be injured, trapped, concealed, or otherwise difficult to detect using conventional search methods alone.
We also utilise underwater drone technology in specific situations involving water hazards and shoreline searches.
With years of frontline experience supporting missing dog incidents, we understand the importance of acting methodically, remaining calm, and reducing unnecessary pressure on missing dogs during active searches.
As fully licensed and qualified operators, we are committed to maintaining high standards across every aspect of our work.
Our approach combines:
-
specialist technology
-
structured search planning
-
behavioural understanding
-
operational experience
-
risk assessment
-
calm incident support
Every incident is different, and every decision is made based on safety, environment, dog behaviour, and the information available at the time.
We understand the emotional impact a missing dog incident can have on owners and families.
Our aim is to provide clear, structured, and responsible support during some of the most stressful stages of a search, helping owners better understand risks, likely behaviour patterns, and practical next steps.
While no search outcome can ever be guaranteed, our goal is to provide professional volunteer support that assists owners in making informed decisions during active missing dog incidents.
At Eye in the Sky, our focus is not only on technology, but on delivering experienced, compassionate, and responsible support when it is needed most.
